Summary of the book "Speak"

The story "speak" describes a year-long excerpt from the life of a twelve-years-old girl. During this year, the girl Melinda had to go through a lot in high school. There was not one people, who wanted to be her friend. Everyone kept away from her and even her best friends had left her.

This all began at a party at one from her schoolmate’s house. She was asked by the most popular boy of her school for a dance and she agreed. After a while the boy called Andy started kissing her and then he took her to a car, where he wanted to have sex with her. But she didn’t want to and so the boy raped her.
After this Melinda went back to the party and called to police. Everyone hated her for doing this but no one knew why she did that. Melinda thought no one would understand if she would tell it to someone, so she decided to keep her mouth shut.
When school started, she met in the school bus a girl named Heather. She was the only one who talked to her but after a while even Heather blew her off. She said that she can’t be someone’s friend who is the whole life depressed like Melinda is.
Melinda really had a problem. On the one hand, her schoolwork went back, she often had trouble with teachers and people and on the other hand, she always had to think about that party and had bad dreams at night and after a while she couldn’t sleep any more.
When the summer vacation was near, Melinda started to speak back to her very best friend. She told her about what happened at the party and the next day the whole school knew about it.
Then Melinda became into trouble with Andy and they actually started to fight. But suddenly some girls came and helped Melinda.
The same day, when Melinda came back home, she started to talk to her mother.
This is where the story ends.

The Whipple Museum is a museum, which shows you the most important things in history of science. For many people that sounds boring but I can promise you that it is quite exciting. It is open from Monday to Friday, from 12:3o pm till 4:30 pm. You can even visit it if you haven’t got any money, because you don’t have to pay any admission.
Let’s walk ahead into Pembroke street and then turn right. Here we now see a very old building.
It’s a college, which is called Corpus Christi and it was founded in 1352. It also has got a famous court in the middle, which is well known because it is so beautiful. This college is very amazing and famous, but not only because of the court. Everyone who is intelligent wants to study here once.

A virtual tour through Feldkirch

We start our virtual tour at the tank station outside the city of Feldkirch. The tank station, which is very expensive, has got every month new cashiers.
We now move south to the job centre, where from Monday to Friday hundreds of unemployed try to get a job but they never get any.
Let’s go straight ahead and after two hundred metres we can see on the left side the beautiful railway station, where you can see exciting old tramps, who love to drink lots of alcohol every day. If you have time and a little luck you perhaps can watch them fighting with trees or taxi drivers.
If we keep on walking along the street to the south, we get about 500 metres to the centre. On the right side, there is a big bus station and a McDonalds, the most important building in Feldkirch. In this beautiful restaurant you can get healthy food.
We turn now left into the shopping area. Here you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from farmers from the nearness on every Tuesday.
Walk straight ahead through the shopping area. You are now at the Holiday Inn, which is a beautiful hotel.
Turning to the left you are at the event house, in which are very often concerts and performs.
Walking straight ahead we come to a hill. We finish our tour on the top of this hill. There is a castle, which was built in the 14th century. Outside the castle we can play miniature golf. Inside the castle we can visit the museum or go into a restaurant, which is well known.
